Been going to a jam night at a local bar for a month now, usually about 6 guys, we switch up playing different instruments so i enjoy a bit of drumming and bass and keys too
Ah that's how it works, pretty cool. What type of music do you play? Jamming individually mostly or really all at the same time? Been listening to a ton of Tiny Desk concerts recently, and feeling like my eyes are really opening up on what good musical chemistry is really like, I used to feel like there's that background beat, and there's that bass rhythm, and then there's that other stuff, it all layers up and builds and they do their solos and all, but real chemistry like (best watched from the start but if you're low on time here's getting right into it): https://youtu.be/gpfpYTmohAk?t=592
...is so awesome to withhold. These different strains of musical ability all somehow merging and building into something amazing... it's pretty cool! Tempted to get into a bigger collective of some sort some time. Just need to learn to play more.
